Stop Tiptoeing.
Start Choosing Yourself.
You've done the work. Read the books, sat with a therapist, built the career, shown up for everyone who needed you. And still... something is missing. Not broken. Not in crisis. Just not quite whole.
Sovereign Self is for individuals who are done managing their way through. Who are ready to stop circling what's hard and actually go there. To unpack what's been sitting in the corners, face it with compassion, and come home to the fullness of who they are.
Whether you're navigating a major transition, carrying patterns you can't quite shake, or know there's more available to you than what you've been living: this is the process for that work.
This is for you if:
You're successful by every external measure but can't shake the feeling that something essential is missing.
You've done therapy, read the books, developed real insight, and you're still stuck in the same patterns.
You're in the middle of a major transition and need more than reflection. You need structure, depth, and a guide.
You know you're abandoning yourself somehow, and you're finally ready to stop.
You want to feel alive in your life, not just productive. Present, not just performing.
Why a Half-Day?
Why Not Weekly?
Weekly therapy is exactly right for a lot of people at a lot of moments in life. The rhythm of coming back each week, building trust, processing slowly, that model is genuinely transformative for those who need it. This is not that. And it's not trying to be.
What I've witnessed over 23 years is this: for people who already have skills and awareness, who have done meaningful work and still find themselves circling the same edges, weekly sessions can actually fragment the process. You build real momentum in the room, then leave. You cool down, come back, try to rebuild the heat. The insight is there, but the real shift stays just out of reach because you never stay present with what's hard long enough for it to actually move.
A Half-Day Intensive changes the conditions entirely. In four focused hours, we can go somewhere together and actually stay there. We don't have to wrap things up neatly before time is up. We can tend to the discomfort instead of rushing past it, using a combination of conversation, somatic and breath work, family systems exploration, and experiential exercises tailored specifically to you.
This isn't about going faster. It's about going deeper.
Sovereign Self Plan Pricing
RESET
The moment you stop rushing and start seeing what's really there.
The Pause Before the Pivot - For the individual who knows something needs to shift but hasn't been able to name exactly what. One concentrated half-day to stop, look at yourself clearly, and get honest about what comes next. Not a crisis intervention. A real pause, with a guide, before you decide what the next chapter is.
ROOTED
The commitment to tend to the discomfort through an entire season.
The Choice to Stay Even When It's Hard - For the individual choosing to stay present with what's real over an extended season of change. Two intensives, ongoing support, and consistent access that holds you through the hard middle of the work, not just the breakthrough moment. The patterns you carry didn't form overnight. This is the space to unpack them over time, with continuity and care.
RHYTHM
To yourself; to truth; to what really matters. Over and over.
The Practice of Returning to Self - For the individual committed to their own becoming as a long-term practice, not a one-time reset. Four intensives over 18 months, deep integration support, and the space to return again and again to what you're building. Not a destination. A devotion.

What Happens Next
Once enrolled, you'll receive access to your private membership site with orientation materials, scheduling links, and resources to help you prepare for the work ahead. Intake paperwork arrives via email within 1–2 business days.
01
Schedule your intensive using the calendar link on your membership site. Intensives require a minimum of 30 days’ advance notice — this allows me to prepare thoughtfully for your specific work and secure the right space.
02
Check-in access goes live as soon as your intensive is booked. Integration support starts before you've even had your first session. You don't have to wait for the intensive to begin the work.
03
Why This Works
The Fragmentation Problem
In weekly sessions, you build real momentum in the room, then leave. By the time you return, you've cooled. Life has already moved in and crowded out what you started. It's not a failure of the work; it's a limitation of the format. Deep transformation often requires staying present with discomfort longer than 50 minutes a week will allow.
The Depth Solution
In four focused hours, we can actually go there and stay. We move through conversation, somatic and breath work, family systems exploration, and experiential exercises tailored to what you're carrying. There's no timer on insight here. No need to arrive at resolution before the session ends. This is where you get to lay it bare: this is what it is. This is what it would take for it to be different.
The Integration Piece
This isn't a single-session event. Check-ins and virtual touchpoint sessions exist to help you implement what you uncovered, not just understand it. The support holds you through an entire season of change, not just the breakthrough moment. What you discover in the intensive has somewhere to land.

Sovereign Self works best for individuals who are done talking about change and ready to be in it. You've likely done some personal work before like therapy and/or coaching. You have real awareness and real skills. And something is still stuck. You might be navigating a major transition, an old pattern showing up in a new relationship, a career or identity question that won't resolve, or a quieter kind of emptiness that doesn't have a clean name.
The readiness signal isn't certainty. It's a felt sense that the next layer of growth requires something different than what you've been doing. If that's where you are, this is worth a conversation.
This is not the right fit if you're in active mental health crisis requiring weekly clinical support, if you have untreated substance use or are in danger, or if you're brand new to personal work and still building foundational skills. Not sure? Book a free consultation. I'd rather talk it through and point you somewhere better suited than have you invest in a process that isn't right for this season.
-
This is intensive coaching, not therapy. It's deeply informed by 23 years of clinical expertise as a licensed marriage and family therapist, but Sovereign Self operates as a coaching engagement. We're focused on depth, insight, and intentional change; not diagnosis, treatment, or ongoing clinical care.
If you're currently working with a therapist, you can absolutely continue that alongside this. Many clients find the two support each other beautifully. I'm happy to communicate with treating clinicians when appropriate and a release is signed.

Four hours together in a curated private space. We begin with a clear orientation of what you're working on, and from there we move through the work using a combination of conversation, somatic and breath work, family systems exploration, and experiential exercises tailored to you. There's structure, but there's room for what actually needs to emerge.
You won't leave with a list of action items. You'll leave with something real: a clearer sense of what's actually going on, what it would take to be different, and a path forward that belongs to you. Intensives are in-person only, held in curated private spaces in the DC metro area. Or I can come to you.

Once enrolled, you'll receive a calendar link on your membership site. Intensives require a minimum of 30 days advance notice; this allows me to secure the right space and prepare properly for your work. I'm available Thursday through Monday, so there's flexibility in finding what works.
If you need something sooner than 30 days out, reach out directly, and we'll see what's possible.

Half-day intensives are available both in-person and virtually, though I strongly encourage in-person when possible. The somatic and experiential elements of this work land differently when we're in the same room, and for most people, the depth of that shared physical space makes a real difference. That said, I understand that geography and schedules are real, and virtual intensives are a genuine option.
Virtual sessions are the default format for the 60-minute touchpoint sessions and for quick check-ins across all plans
-
Yes, and it often makes the work richer. When you're doing individual therapy alongside the intensive, you come in with more capacity and more readiness. The two don't compete; they layer.
I'm happy to communicate with your therapist if it would be useful, with appropriate releases in place.
-
The plans aren't about severity — they're about depth and duration.
RESET is one intensive plus one 60-minute session over 6 months; giving you a concentrated pause to get clear on what's real and what comes next.
ROOTED is two intensives with four virtual touchpoint sessions over 12 months, for those who want to stay in the work through an entire season of change.
RHYTHM is four intensives with eight virtual sessions over 18 months, for those committed to ongoing transformation as a practice, not a one-time event.
If you're not sure which fits, book a consultation. That's exactly what those conversations are for. You can also start with RESET and build from there if the work calls for it.
-
Not necessarily — but it helps. The intensive format works best for people who have some existing capacity for self-reflection and some comfort sitting with difficult material. If you've never worked with a therapist or coach before, book a consultation first. We'll assess together whether this is the right starting place or whether you'd benefit from some foundational work first.
-
For clients in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Richmond, I offer in-person intensives for a flat $1,500 travel fee.
If you're in another city and want to work in person, reach out directly. We can discuss a full-day option that includes travel and find something that works for both of us.
-
You can upgrade at any time; we'll apply what you've already paid toward the new plan. If life shifts and you need to pause the work, reach out. I handle extensions and pauses on a case-by-case basis for significant life circumstances.
-
More than 21 days notice: no fee, one free change permitted.
Fourteen to 21 days notice: $500 rescheduling fee.
Less than 14 days notice: 50% of the intensive fee.
Less than 7 days or no-show: full intensive fee is forfeited.
This policy exists because I secure private rental spaces for each intensive, often non-refundable, and hold dedicated calendar space for your work.
For genuine emergencies such as a medical crisis, family emergency, or natural disaster, reach out in writing and we'll work through it together.
Why Me.
Why This Work.
I spent more than two decades as a licensed marriage and family therapist, watching smart, successful, self-aware people tiptoe in the shallow end of their own transformation. They came in with language, with insight, with every book read and podcast listened to. They were still stuck. Still compartmentalized. Still going through the motions.
I loved that work… and I knew something needed to change about the container.
I closed my 16-year group therapy practice to focus entirely on intensive coaching, because I believe that for people who are ready, depth is more transformative than duration. I'm not a healer, and I'm not a fixer. I'm a doula for transformation. I create the container, I bear witness, I help you clean the mirror so you can see what's actually there.
The transformation is yours to birth.
I bring 23 years of clinical wisdom alongside the cultural fluency that comes from being a Black, first-generation Jamaican-American woman who knows what it means to hustle for worth, to code-switch, to carry the weight of success while quietly wondering why it doesn't feel like enough.
I've spoken at TEDx, appeared on the TODAY Show, and serve on the boards of the Black Healing Collective and the Tigerlily Foundation. But what matters most in this space is that I've spent two decades learning how to sit with people in their hardest moments without rushing them toward resolution.
I go deep quickly. I'm a little impatient for shallow work, in the best way. And I'm deeply comfortable sitting with you in what's hard, which means you don't have to perform readiness or resolve anything on a timeline. You just have to show up.
